Policies & Handbook
Our handbook contains current information on the day-to-day programs, and the policies to which we adhere. We trust that it will provide you with the tools to make the transition into preschool life a little easier. For more information please download our Kindergarten Handbook (2023) or view our current Evesham Road Kinder policies (currently under review).
Please ask our administration staff or committee member should you have further questions.
Parent Participation
Parents are always welcome and encouraged to “Stay and Play” at kindergarten.
Joining in at kinder is a lot of fun and it is a great way to get to know the teachers and the other children in your kinder group. If you are unable to stay and play during a kindergarten session, there are many other ways you can get involved at Evesham Road.
Joining the Committee, attending social events, fundraising, maintenance or gardening are some examples of how you can get involved in the kindergarten community.
Committee
As an Incorporated Association, Evesham Road Kindergarten has rules that detail the formalities of the management of the kindergarten.
The general running of the kindergarten is the responsibility of the Committee of Management. Members of the committee are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. Nomination forms are sent out in October with details of the meeting. If you are interested in a position please complete the form and lodge it at the Kinder at least 1 week before the AGM. It is well worthwhile becoming part of the team that makes the decisions about our Kindergarten – this is a great way to contribute.
Office bearers are the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. In addition there is to be a maximum of twelve ordinary members of the Committee. These members have responsibility for Fundraising, 3 and 4 year old enrolments, maintenance of the Kindergarten, social activities and a variety of other matters necessary to keep the Kindergarten running smoothly and efficiently. There are also a number of supporting positions, including a social coordinator for each kinder group, and a uniform officer. Supporting positions are not required to attend committee meetings. Please view the Committee Positions page for a full list.
For more information or if you are interested in joining our committee please email the Committee President.
Fundraising
Fundraising is a vital aspect of managing Evesham Road Kindergarten. Significant effort is invested by the kindergarten community to raise funds for the purchase of new equipment, capital works projects such as upgrading our existing facilities and grounds and/or other one-off special projects as requested by our educators or as deemed necessary by the Kindergarten Management Committee.
Our fundraising efforts are often incorporated into social gatherings of the kindergarten community and are a great way to get to know other families and children as well as making a valuable contribution to the learning environment of the children.
If you would like to assist our fundraising team please email the Committee Fundraising Coordinator.
Healthy Eating
At Evesham Road Kindergarten, we aim to promote nutritional eating habits in a safe, supportive environment for all children. We believe that early childhood is an important time for establishing lifelong healthy eating habits and can benefit the children. Good nutrition contributes to good health and wellbeing and this is vital for positive engagement in learning experiences.
Class Sizes
Class sizes are dependent upon enrolment numbers, however we implement the educator to child ratios as advised by The Department of Education and Training (1 educator : 11 children).
Currently our groups (for both 3-year old and 4-year old kinder) are capped at 22.
